Michael Carrick thinks the England team would benefit from the presence of David Beckham in the World Cup later, though the star would not play.
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick thinks the presence of David Beckham England still needed, despite not playing in the World Cup later.
Achilles tendon injury forced Beckham to rest six months. However, taking Fabio Capello had Beckham to join accompany the Three Lions to South Africa. Intention was welcomed by Carrick.
"I think the invitation was based on the capacity of Beckham and I am sure the whole squad happy ditemaninya," said Carrick told Sky Sports News.
"Beckham's presence will pump the spirit of the players. He has a charisma that respected all people."
Carrick also discuss the targets set at the World Cup England.
"Not easy to qualify for the quarter-finals and once there pass to overshadow the failure of our penalties," he said.
"Little things can help you win the party like that."
"It's easy for me to sit to talk about it, but we want to win the World Cup. We must make it happen, despite many obstacles along the way."
